Llum BCN 2024: Tour «La luz creativa lo cambia todo»
El pasado 2 de febrero tuvo lugar el tour exclusivo y guiado “La luz creativa lo cambia todo”. Un paseo en el que la tecnología, el medio ambiente y, por supuesto, la luz, fueron los protagonistas. Organizado conjuntamente por el CICAT y Bernadí, bajo la dirección del diseñador de iluminación Alberto Barberà del estudio Anoche, durante la edición de Llum BCN 2024.
Una vez más, las calles de Barcelona se iluminaron con el festival de luces Llum BCN 2024, celebrado del 2 al 4 de febrero.
Este recorrido exclusivo es una iniciativa del proyecto europeo SHAPE-THE-LIGHT y contó con la participación activa de las firmas iGuzzini y Frepi Lighting.
Este año, el certamen se enfocó en el medioambiente y la tecnología, algo que los participantes del tour pudieron apreciar a través de las instalaciones lumínicas visitadas. Según explicó Miquel Àngel Julià Hierro, se eligieron cinco instalaciones lumínicas efímeras, todas ellas situadas en edificios emblemáticos de Barcelona, que ya simbolizan el nuevo centro de la ciudad que Ildefons Cerdà visualizaba para la Plaça de les Glòries:
“Mira el Sol”, Elisa Storelli. Mirador Torre Glòries.

Elisa Storelli explora cómo iluminaría el Sol la fachada de la Torre Glòries si estuviera en Marte. Su instalación convierte el edificio en un gigantesco reloj de sol que muestra el paso del tiempo en el planeta rojo, creando una metáfora lumínica sobre las relaciones entre los ecosistemas urbanos y planetarios.
Elisa Storelli es una artista de la Suiza italiana que trabaja entre Brissago y Berlín. Su investigación artística se centra en cómo cambia el fenómeno del tiempo y cómo este interactúa con las estructuras sociales. Su obra, que mezcla teorías científicas y perspectivas históricas y no occidentales sobre el tiempo, se ha presentado en importantes instituciones y eventos internacionales como el Kunsthaus de Zúrich, la Changwon Sculpture Biennale 2022 y el Hamburger Bahnhof de Berlín, entre otros.
“Espill: un satèl·lit per al solstici”, TAKK – Mireia Luzáraga + Alejandro Muiño

Esta instalación, inspirada en la estrella de Navidad, invita a debatir sobre la contaminación lumínica mediante un satélite a tamaño real, cubierto de espejos, que pone de manifiesto los efectos de la iluminación masiva en el medio ambiente.
Mireia Luzárraga y Alejandro Muiño son fundadores de TAKK, un estudio de arquitectura y diseño en Barcelona. Sus proyectos integran pensamiento feminista, ecología y política en las prácticas espaciales. Son profesores en la Universidad de Columbia, la Universidad de Tokio, el IAAC y La Salle, y han participado en diversas instituciones internacionales.

Una estructura arbórea artificial que estimula la biodiversidad urbana con casitas para aves, dispositivos de riego, elementos vegetales, luces de crecimiento y ventiladores, demostrando un enfoque eficaz para la producción.

Un umbráculo misterioso que nos sumerge en un bosque, invitándonos a conectar con nuestros sentidos a través de la luz filtrada, olores botánicos y sonidos de animales, reflejando un ecosistema amenazado por la crisis climática.
Antoni Arola, diseñador con sede en Barcelona, centra su investigación en la luz y su interacción con el espacio. Su obra, reconocida con premios como el Premio Nacional de Diseño y el Red Dot Design Award, busca la belleza intuitiva y se inspira en culturas ancestrales y encuentros fortuitos.
“Range in between”, Jou Serra

Esta instalación presenta la luz como clave en la relación sociocognitiva entre el mundo, las personas y el espacio, mediante una danza lumínica que explora la vulnerabilidad y la constante transformación.
Jou Serra, iluminador y artista visual en Barcelona, investiga la luz y el espacio en las artes escénicas, la instalación y la arquitectura. Con formación en iluminación arquitectónica y danza contemporánea, su trabajo se centra en la creación de espacios de reflexión visual y filosófica.
En definitiva, disfrutamos de una velada agradable y brillante, que culminó con un espacio de networking al que asistieron los participantes del tour.

Llum BCN 2024: Tour «Creative light changes everything»
Last February 2nd took place the exclusive and guided tour «Creative light changes everything». A tour in which technology, the environment and, of course, light, were the protagonists. Organized jointly by CICAT and Bernadí, under the direction of lighting designer Alberto Barberà of Anoche studio, during Llum BCN 2024.
Once again, the streets of Barcelona were illuminated with the Llum BCN 2024 light festival, held from February 2nd to 4th.
This exclusive tour is an initiative of the European project SHAPE-THE-LIGHT and counted with the active participation of the firms iGuzzini and Frepi Lighting.
This year, the event focused on the environment and technology, something that the tour participants were able to appreciate through the lighting installations visited. As Miquel Àngel Julià Hierro explained, five ephemeral lighting installations were chosen, all of them located in emblematic buildings in Barcelona, which already symbolize the new city center that Ildefons Cerdà envisioned for Plaça de les Glòries:

Elisa Storelli explores how the sun would illuminate the facade of the Torre Glòries if it were on Mars. Her installation turns the building into a giant sundial that shows the passage of time on the red planet, creating a luminous metaphor about the relationships between urban and planetary ecosystems.
Elisa Storelli is an artist from Italian Switzerland who works between Brissago and Berlin. Her artistic research focuses on how the phenomenon of time changes and how it interacts with social structures. Her work, which mixes scientific theories and historical and non-Western perspectives on time, has been presented at important international institutions and events such as the Kunsthaus Zurich, the Changwon Sculpture Biennale 2022 and the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, among others.

This installation, inspired by the Christmas star, invites to debate about light pollution through a life-size satellite, covered with mirrors, which highlights the effects of massive lighting on the environment.
Mireia Luzárraga and Alejandro Muiño are founders of TAKK, an architecture and design studio in Barcelona. Their projects integrate feminist thinking, ecology and politics into spatial practices. They are professors at Columbia University, the University of Tokyo, IAAC and La Salle, and have participated in several international institutions.

A mysterious umbraculum that immerses us in a forest, inviting us to connect with our senses through filtered light, botanical scents and animal sounds, reflecting an ecosystem threatened by the climate crisis.
Antoni Arola, a Barcelona-based designer, focuses his research on light and its interaction with space. His work, recognized with awards such as the National Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award, seeks intuitive beauty and is inspired by ancestral cultures and chance encounters.
“Range in between”, Jou Serra

This installation presents light as a key to the socio-cognitive relationship between the world, people and space, through a light dance that explores vulnerability and constant transformation.
Jou Serra, an light specialist and visual artist in Barcelona, investigates light and space in the performing arts, installation and architecture. Trained in architectural lighting and contemporary dance, his work focuses on creating spaces for visual and philosophical reflection.
All in all, we enjoyed a pleasant and brilliant evening, which culminated with a networking space attended by tour participants.
