Barcelona brilló con luz propia una vez más en el festival LlumBCN 2025, un evento que transforma el barrio de Poblenou en un lienzo de arte lumínico donde se fusionan disciplinas como el Light Art, el Mapping y la iluminación arquitectónica. En esta edición, CICAT – Clúster d’Il·luminació de Catalunya y Bernadí organizaron un tour exclusivo dentro del marco del proyecto europeo Shape The Light, ofreciendo a los participantes una experiencia única para descubrir instalaciones innovadoras y explorar los desafíos del diseño lumínico contemporáneo.
Un recorrido por la iluminación de vanguardia
El tour inició en el edificio SWITCH de SIMON, un referente en diseño lumínico donde Bernadí colaboró activamente el año pasado. Los asistentes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer de primera mano los retos y aprendizajes del proyecto a través de la presentación de Mariel Fuentes, Lighting Designer en MMAS Lighting, guiada por Miquel Àngel Julià Hierro, Concept Architect y Curator de la comunidad de expertos The Next. Durante el recorrido, exploramos las distintas plantas del edificio y analizamos cómo la iluminación ha contribuido a convertirlo en un espacio de referencia con certificaciones WELL y LEED.
La segunda parte del tour, diseñada por Àfrica Sabé Dausà y guiada por Sophya Acosta, llevó a los participantes a un viaje inmersivo por diversas instalaciones lumínicas creadas por artistas, diseñadores y estudiantes. La selección incluyó piezas impactantes como Transit de Javier Jiménez Iniesta & Cabosanroque, Impulse de Lateral Office Inc. & CS Design Inc., y Being-in-the-world de Inzist. Además, descubrimos propuestas emergentes como Llum a l’oblit de los estudiantes de DEIÀ, The infinite loop de la Universitat Internacional de Catalunya y Eixir de los alumnos de ELISAVA, todas ellas reflejando nuevas formas de entender la luz como elemento narrativo y experiencial.
Barcelona lit up once again at LlumBCN 2025, a festival that transforms the Poblenou neighborhood into a canvas of light art where disciplines such as Light Art, Mapping, and Architectural Lighting converge. In this edition, CICAT – the Lighting Cluster of Catalonia – and Bernadí organized an exclusive tour as part of the European project Shape The Light, offering participants a unique experience to discover innovative installations and explore the challenges of contemporary lighting design.
A Journey Through Cutting-Edge Lighting
The tour began at SIMON’s SWITCH building, a benchmark in lighting design where Bernadí actively collaborated last year. Attendees had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the project’s challenges and lessons through a presentation by Mariel Fuentes, Lighting Designer at MMAS Lighting, guided by Miquel Àngel Julià Hierro, Concept Architect and Curator of the expert community The Next. During the visit, we explored the building’s different floors and analyzed how lighting has contributed to turning it into a reference space with WELL and LEED certifications.
The second part of the tour, designed by Àfrica Sabé Dausà and guided by Sophya Acosta, took participants on an immersive journey through various light installations created by artists, designers, and students. The selection included impactful pieces such as Transit by Javier Jiménez Iniesta & Cabosanroque, Impulse by Lateral Office Inc. & CS Design Inc., and Being-in-the-world by Inzist. We also discovered emerging proposals like Llum a l’oblit by students from DEIÀ, The infinite loop by the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, and Eixir by students from ELISAVA – all reflecting new ways of understanding light as a narrative and experiential element.
